Gillian Fullard

Gillian Fullard

Morristown , NJ

Image: Flora and Fauna

Gillian’s life influences her art as she sees decorative inspiration in the world around her, whether it is the delicate shape and color of a leaf or flower from her garden, a salvaged vintage damask or a fragile, handwritten antique letter or postcard from abroad. This results in exquisite collages composed of vintage fabrics, papers, hand-painted botanicals, and antique memorabilia. Elements of history and nature are elegantly brought into the present revealing work that looks at once antiquated and entirely modern.

Gillian’s work is inspired by travel and the love of the art and history of the places she visits. Always scouting antique shops and the serendipity of flea markets, she is on a constant search for the objects that will evoke the atmosphere of a far away place and time.

Originally from the UK, with a degree in fashion textiles from Brighton University, Gillian is the founder and Creative Director of London Portfolio design studio (est.1986). London Portfolio has an international

reputation as one of America’s top design studios for textile design, and the design of paper products such as greeting cards, wrapping paper, bags, journals, albums, framed art and ceramics. She currently resides in Basking Ridge New Jersey with husband Neil and their son Sam.
