Bettie Page

Bettie Page

Nashville, TN

Image: Beach

Bettie Page is known as the Queen of Pinups, and for good reason. Her career posing for camera clubs and glamour photographers began and ended in the fifties, but her image has captivated generation after generation. With her trademark black bangs, curvy figure, and irresistible smile, Bettie Page has never gone out of style. Photos of Bettie by model-turned-photographer Bunny Yeager are among the most celebrated images, capturing her girl-next-door appeal. Bettie often combined sexy poses with a wink and a smile. She never seemed to take herself too seriously, which is part of her charm. She was the playmate-of-the-month centerfold in the January 1955 issue of Playboy, with Hugh Hefner calling her appearance in the magazine "a milestone." Even though Bettie Page disappeared from the modeling scene in 1958, her popularity has never waned. Now she enters the computer age with a new line of GelaSkins.
